Mixed Media Monday - Rust

This week over at Mixed Media Monday the theme
is 'Rust' and is hosted by my friend Gillian who's done
an amazing sample piece for her chosen theme. I decided
to alter this tin and make it into a memory box for this
weeks challenge, think I threw everything in my craft
cupboard at it lol and I hope it looks a bit rusty :o)

I love how it has a patina finish. How do create the background? Inks or paint. It is quite lovely.
